Portable Foam Equipment – Excel Foam Generator

The Delta Excel High Expansion Foam Generator is a water‑turbine powered foam generator that produces very large volumes of high‑expansion foam quickly and efficiently. It has a built‑in foam induction system and simply requires a pressurised water supply and synthetic foam concentrate to operate. A water bypass system helps control the expansion rate and maintain performance even against back pressure. The unit is capable of ducting foam to heights of up to 15 metres and is supplied with expandable polythene for effective foam distribution. Manufactured in the UK with corrosion‑resistant materials and available in different colour options, it is suitable for use with all foam types including fluorine‑free foams and can be configured with additional features such as a smoke extraction capability.

The Delta Excel Foam Generator produces high‑expansion foam with consistent bubble structure and excellent stability, giving it superior performance for filling and flooding large spaces quickly. Its water‑turbine driven design and built‑in foam induction system ensure accurate proportioning of foam concentrate and efficient air entrainment, which creates a dense, uniform foam blanket that sticks to surfaces and displaces oxygen effectively. The design also helps maintain performance against back pressure, resulting in better foam generation even in challenging conditions. This combination of accurate induction, effective air mixing and robust construction contributes to high‑quality foam output suitable for fire suppression, smoke control and total‑flood applications.

The Delta Excel Foam Generator is available in models designed to operate with a total water flow of approximately 285 LPM when the bypass valve is open and about 260 LPM when the bypass is closed. These flow profiles allow the unit to produce high‑expansion foam effectively, with the foam output varying depending on the bypass setting and water pressure supplied. At higher bypass settings the generator produces expanded foam volumes suited for large‑area total‑flood applications, while at lower bypass settings it focuses more on direct foam discharge. These specification ranges make the Excel suitable for a wide range of fire and smoke control tasks.

The Delta Excel High‑Expansion Foam Generator is compatible with all types of synthetic foam concentrates, including fluorine‑free foams as well as traditional formulations, provided they are designed for high‑expansion foam generation. This allows the unit to be used with a wide range of foam concentrates for different fire hazards, giving flexibility in selecting the most suitable foam chemistry for the application.
